East Links

We returned to East Links Family Park today, as a treat to follow on from Ben’s birthday. We made a day of it.

It’s about an hour’s drive from our home.

As soon as we got there, we caught the first train round the park. Choo! Choo!

We passed lots of animals on the train and threw them feed.

Next we practised our excavating skills.

Ellie and Ben had fish and chips for lunch.

Re-energised, we played some more (and more, and more).

By then, the kids were so tired mum and dad had to pull them around in a cart (never mind how mum and dad were feeling!)

We saw lots more cute animals.

Finally, what better way to round off the day than with mini golf. Believe it or not, Ben hit a hole in one with his first ever golf shot!

… and, rest.

Great-grandad and Toby

Last week, we had family come to visit – my mum, Clive and Tom, and Ellie and Ben’s great-grandad. It’s the first time he’s met Ellie, Ben and Jana.

The star attraction, however, was my grandad’s dog, Toby.

I took a day off work and we went to the seaside town of North Berwick.

My mum showed Ellie and Ben the rockpools.

They had a whale of a time.

Meanwhile, Clive, Tom and I practised our beach frisbee skills. We got pretty good!

Thanks for visiting us, Toby!

Hurá, hurá, škola volá!

Big day last week as Ellie started at primary school, in “P1” as they call it up here.

She was very happy to go to school and has settled in brilliantly.

It was an equally big day for Ben as he had his first day in nursery. He’s not really been away from mummy and daddy before so it was a big step for him. He’s been a little anxious the first few days but now he seems to be settling in too.

Go forth and learn!
